Is there a registry setting that I can change to set my default web browser to other than Internet Explorer? Alternatively, is there an admin option through which I can achieve this?

Thanks.

What do you want to change to?
This is usually done in the browser itself.

Hi

The below procedures are for Win XP

1) Click Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
2) Click the Set Program Access and Defaults icon on the left hand panel
3) Click "Custom".
4) After expanding the "Custom" category, you will see Internet Explorer and other installed browsers listed under "Choose a default Web browser".
5) Select your desired browser.

PS: make sure you have administrative right to carry out the above.

Thanks LStan. You answered the question as put. One thing that it also does is to lose the other actions associated with the file types *.HTM and *.HTML. I have various HTML editors which disappear from the actions list so I have, with regret, decided to stick with IE as default browser. Fortunately, reselecting IE also brought back all those other actions.
