Is there a way to change the number of ring cycles on a Merlin? My customer wants her phone to ring only 4 times, then to voicemail. Right now it rings six times, then to voicemail.

Thanks in advance!

What you are looking for is "Coverage Delay Interval"

Enter Programming mode
- (sys prog) [F1]
- (exit) [f5]
Select Options
- (Options0 [F7]
Display next page
- (MORE) [pageUp]
Select group coverage delay interval
- (cover delay) [f6]
To erase current # of rings
- (DROP) [alt]+[P]
enter the new # of rings for CDI
- (n)+(Enter) [n]+[f10]

or, if you have a release 6 or higher..

Sys prog
Exit or Start(depending)
Extensions

Cover delay
(enter ext #)
group coverage
enter number of rings

As well, take into conderation that if someone else is covering this person's phone with a coverage button..the system will ring on the primary first then to secondary and then to group coverage. For example..if the cover delay is set to 3. Someone has a primary coverage button for her phone so that whenever her phone rings..so does their's. The primary would ring for 3 rings..then the group would ring for three rings, which would be 6 rings until it gets to the VM box. Hope this helps.

Thank you both! This has helped tremendously...

Jinxs,

I found your post very helpfull.
I am actually trying to put a cover button that will cover for my operator , but for some reason it gets forwarded the wrong number of rings.
let's say 511 needs to cover for 510.
if 510 doesn't pickup after one ring , i would like it to be ringing on 511.
I know that 511 can pick it up anytime but how do you make 511 rings after one ring , I am not sure if it's a cover primary or secondary button that I need to setup. and I am also confused with the delay cover time
a little help would be appreciated

Thanks in advance,
David

David, I had to look this one up in the book. According to the book, what you need to do is programm a primary cover button on x511, then set the primary cover button on x511 for delayed ring *36. Then set the primary coverage delay to 1 ring. Presto chango, it should work(according to AVAYA).
