A customer has a German and a UK SIP number. Is it possible to choose which number is shown as their presentation number depending on where they are calling. For example if they dial a German number it presents a German number on the end users phone or if they call you it displays the UK number?

Thanks in advance,

You need to use ARS for that and if someone dials a German number it will start with 0049 or +49 then route it over the german trunk a UK number starts with 0044 or +44

example:

ARS code 0049N; TN = 0049N"@german CLI" Line ID = the poutgoing line ID set in the line URI action = Dial
or +49N; TN = 0049N"@german CLI" Line ID = the poutgoing line ID set in the line URI action = Dial
and for the UK
0044N; TN = 0044N"@UK CLI" Line ID = the outgoing line ID set in the line URI action = Dial
+44N; TN = 0044N"@UK CLI" Line ID = the outgoing line ID set in the line URI action = Dial

I really wish the S short code worked for SIP. Or a short code for setting the URI data.

Jamie, you can do it but than you need to program every URI separately and give them there own outgoing line group ID.
On 9.0 with locations you can limit the amount of external calls.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

That's what I mean. Pain in the arse!!

iSDN: ?, .S123456, Dial

It would be nice to see:
SIP: N;, .U0123456789, Dial or similar.

We set the SIP URI to "Use Internal Data" on the 3 options and put the CLI in the user SIP tab. If we could set the URI to say, use short codes and then have 3 letters for the different options, it would be much simpler and possibly more flexible.

Jamie, you are right :)
I will suggest this on the 9.1 trials.

Brilliant idea Jamie!

Now you are assuming they will either listen or even give a damn!!!! ;-)

I suggested an the 4.1 intro meeting at Welwyn Garden City that they should change night service. 9.1 sees something close to what I was talking about!!!

So we will see this in R16.1 then [smile]

Can you also suggest a button feature to select a different ARS. I hate using prefixes for different CLI settings. If users could press a button before dialling, much easier.

I answered the question and a complainer about the way IP Office works get a star, strange forum members.

Whiner [smile]
Have a Star for the solution and another one for complaining about how the mind of forum members work.

Happy now? [upsidedown]

Kind regards

No, but it irritates me those complainers, do something about it!
Besides that the option to add "@CLI" on SIP trunks is good enough in my opinion, just a liitle bit more work.
AND if you want a change then ask to treat the "sCLI" feature for ISDN to work on SIP the same way, for a programmer it is easy enough to add a "@" in fron of the CLI in a SIP trunk.

but it would be nice to keep it uniform no matter what the trunk is :)
however I really don't care any more as I just do it and test it if it works I am happy. Worse when you program 2 systems the same and one works and the other one doesn't because they are different DOT releases and behave differently. THAT is what drives ME nuts.

Do I get a complainer star now too [ponder]

Yes, I agree on the "undocumented" differences between versions. Very small but very annoing, like the default security setting in Manager.
Opening a config with the R9 Manager, if it is a R9 system and security is on then OK, if you have security off then it takes a very long time to get the coonfig.
So I keep security on, now I have a pre R9 system and with security on, yes, it takes a very long time to get the config.
Reported that in the field trial. An easy fix for Avaya as the version is discovered before getting the config.
There are other inconsistant issues as well, like opening a 3.1 config with a 8+ Manager will enable to merge things which cannot be merged using a 3.1 manager. Result : unstable system without a reboot.

it must be night time, I see stars.

Thank you for the star and from now on, I promise, I will complain more. :)

Jammie
you mean press a function button on the handsets before then dialling out as opposed to pressing a number key on the keypad before dialling out, I cant see the benefit myself, especial as using a number key on the keypad also works for analog devices :)

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

IPGuru, for those not using leading numbers (9 or 0) for outside calls, it would be very nice.

Using the S in the ARS works for most providers from 7.0

Only 1 URI With */internal data/internal data/<main number pai>
In the ARS you can use N; / NS<number you like>

No need to change all sip tab of ervery user

You can even user NS01345332E where E is the extension number.
