Dear All,

How can I change number of rings to 4 for a DN before it is transferred to a meridian voicemial? I am using Optivity Telephony manager(OTM)to connect to the Meridian.

Sincerely,

txeffend

4 is normally the default, check your ringing cycle entries in the customer data block. Then be sure your individual phones are using the ringing cycle choice you desire.

Hi worldwidedialtone,

Pardon my ignorance but where exactly will I find "Customer data block"? in the OTM. Thanks

you don't find it in otm, in the switch ld 21 prt rdr data, you'll see
CFN0 3
CFN1 4
CFN2 6

those are the number of ring cycles before fna, if you can't get to those prompts then change the rco on the phone to o then 1 and then 2, testing each one to see how many rings it takes.. in this switch you can see that 3 is the default, if i make my phone rco 1, it takes 4 rings, i don't use otm, but the change can be done from that interface...

I actually wanted to change # of rings on a single DN. I do not want to make a system wide change.

Can I therefore, clarify (and I appologise) that I am only looking for changing # of rings on a particular DN.

Thanks

You can change just one, but you have to choose from one of the 3 options (RCO 0, 1, or 2). Those are defined on a system-wide basis in the post I gave you the URL for. So yes, you can change just one, but only if the # you want is one of your pre-defined system options. -Matt

you just need to know what the system options are, so you cna pick the one you want, some smaller(or newer) systems may not have anything except rco 0 in use
