changing passwds

I'd like to change a users passwd and when the user logs into the system I don't want them to be prompted to change it. Is there a way to accomplish this?

when i use pwdadm and change the user's passwd, when they log in they are prompted to change it again. that's what i'd like to avoid...
any ideas?
