Hello, I am kinda stuck without programming as when I said I would do this job it was told to me I would only be physically installing jacks and setting phones on desk.
Now I am expected to program them also. Is this a big chore?
Is there step by step programming somewhere? As it has been a few years since programming the OPTION?

First of all make sure that they have the software level to support the new phones. What RLS 3900 sets are they putting in 1/2/or 3?

there is not a step by step that i have ran across. ld 11 prt the old set and build the new on the same tn, then swap the set. i would start on the phone next to the term, make sure you get the step be step down..

Ok a few more details.....
Option 61C with Succession 3.0
I am green on this switch so please log in instructions, should I print all the existing sets, then out them???
Then build new 3903 and 3904's??

yes and the log in information is unique for each switch. you need the password from the user or vendor. and yes you print the old set remove it and build a new set. if you've never programed a merridian, it's a tall order.. here's a 3904 for a guide

Wow! Thank you very much, I have programmed many switches, but this is not one. I guess I will be scrambling for a manual, lol. Just to know what each code means.
Where do I get one?

google for merridial+merl, that's a downloadable file with all the nortel manuals.. you need software input/output guide book one of three, ld 11

Hey John, was that a typo maybe? I have searched all engines for merridial+merl and get null.
Thanx, Al

One more question also... I have multiple buildings and need to make sure the I.D. sent from a phone is that of the primary Line #. No matter which line that phone calls from.
That way 911 works to that phone.
Any suggestions?
I really appreciate the help here, and I will continue to help others here as I learn more of this switch!!

ENTRY 0 SAVED!

This will send a CLID of 8003253535 for any calls originating from DNs associated with CLID entry 0.

The DN is associated with CLID entry 0 when you assign it to a key on a telephone.

KEY 0 SCR 4500 0<==Clid table entry number

The default (if you enter nothing) is 0. Therefore, set CLID entry 0 to satisfy the 911 needs of most of your users when prrogramming extension keys.

Uh oh, I guess I was not clear enough.
It is for law enforcement. Kinda. Each room, say investigator Joe Smiths office has 3 dn appearing on his phone. I want 5600,5601, and 5602 to show up on caller id as 5600. Is this possible?

Yes, it's possible.

LD 11 set programming...

KEY 0 SCR 5600 1
KEY 1 SCR 5601 1
KEY 2 SCR 5602 1

LD 15, NET_DATA...

CLID ENTRY 1
HNTN = 214 <== Your NPA
HLCL = 3335600 <== Your NXX+ the DN

All DNs that are programmed with CLID entry 1 will cause the switch to send 214-333-5600 as CLID.

--T1PSTN

I'm sorry, did you mean set-to-set calls within the same switch?

--T1PSTN

they have spent thousands of dollars on 911 software that sends there dn out over cid. But only the main extension of that office i.e., 5600 has room location information sent.
so that is why i want 5601 etc. to send 5600 information.

do you want to send the dept dn on the did?

By the way, I think johnpoole meant Meridian + MERL. MERL is Meridian Electronic Reference Library, or something like that. Good luck!
