We'd like to get help with setting up an IP address for a G350 at a remote site. It's been moved from one site (and inactive for the past year) and we're just now turning it up. The MGP's IP address has been changed successfully, but we need help with setting the S8300's IP address.

When this switch was in its former location, the IP addresses were:

Media Gateway Processor: 172.16.13.241 --> this has been changed to 172.16.14.241
S8300: 172.16.13.240 -- this needs to be changed to 172.16.14.240

Note that I (think I) have set up the LSP in the main switch, with this new IP address 172.16.14.240.

I can connect to the MGP using a Web Browser, using the Avaya Device Manager.

also for the S8300
1. Connect to server
2. Open Maint. Web page
3. Under Server Configuration, click on "Configure Server"
4. Follow links ("Configure Interfaces") to configure the IP address for the server for ETH 1 (ethernet port 1) - leave "Laptop" ETH 0 connection as is.

Thanks fluffheadsr. I am able to telnet to the gateway, but am not able to open the web maintenance page (I assume, because the IP address currently configured, is no longer valid).

I am reading through the documentation you provided but can't figure out what's required to display the current configuration (via telnet) / much less change this configuration.

Again, this used to be at one of our warehouses and was simply moved to a new location (and IP scheme). The old IP address(es) will no longer work.

Any ideas/direction appreciated.

Doing this type works requires using a console cable on the media-gateway and a crossover cable connected to the services port of the s8300.

A great teacher, does not provide answers, but methods to teach others "How and where to find the answers"
