I am having a problem with image files like .jpg .tiff .bmp and others changing to 4gb in size, this is occuring only on the Data Vol. I have run Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 8.0 with the current definitions and have found no viruses. It started with just about 50 images and now has grown to around 3500 images. I know it sounds like a virus but for some reason I cannot find the source or the reason behind the growth...

If the files are not 4gb in size but you think that the volume is reporting them incorrectly (3500 4Gb files is a lot for any volume!), you may have to dismount the volume and run a VREPAIR against it. -----------------------------------------------------

Well Vrepair didn't work, So I did a little more digging. It turns out that there was recently a huge power bump which caused some corruption throughout compressed files on one of the Volumes, well they didn't share that with us before and wanted us to migrate files to another volume, which we did and then started to notice these corrupt files popping up everywhere. Needless to say the endusers were not at the time doing a backup of the volume that went corrupt so they will lose all that data. We have since sold them a Backup solution and set it up to run everynight. Funny how most customers think about getting things they need but don't act upon it until a problem occurs.....

If I had a penny (or a dime) for every time I saw that one, this time next year I'd be a millionnaire! -----------------------------------------------------
