Changing from ODBC to OLE DB for a Command in Crystal Version 9

Hi all,

I have 25 reports that contain a Command (sql-statement) using a ODBC connection to an Oracle DB. Our customer requieres to use OLE DB using MS for Oracle.

When I try to change the Location of the DB in the Commands, by going back in the Connection Window, it shows only options for ODBC, so I cannot specify any OLE DB. In this window it shows a box to insert the connection string, but when I tried, it still tries to connect using ODBC.

How do I change the connection from ODBC to OLE DB for a command?

Note: In reports where tables are used instead of a Command it was easy to map from ODBC to OLE DB.

Any help will be appretiate very much.

I think you may have to use the Database->Set Database Location and build out the new connection using OLE DB and the pasted query and repoint at it.

Thanks for your info. But I did not work.
We have decided not to change from ODBC to OLE DB for the commands. So we dropped this task.

Did not work isn't very descriptive, but it doesn't matter now.

It did not work because when I went to the Database Location, there is not way to replace the command (DB Command) with another command in the databases.

Per example:

------- Current DataSource -----------------------
Report
DBServer1
- Properties
- DBCommand
------- Replace with -----------------------
Favorities
DBServer2
- Add Command
- Schema
-Tables
-Table1
-Table2
-etc
--------------------------------------------
I can not replace DBCommand with another command. The only command available is "Add Command."
DBServer1 is using ODBC and DBServer2 is using OLE DB. Both connect to the same server.
