there is a way to do it with out having to reconfigure all the users settings.
1) First make a note of the MAC Address of the new phone. And also note the MAC Address of the phone to be replaced.
2) Go into NetSet/System Configuration/System Wide, and check the 'Auto Discover Telephones' box.
3) Plug in you new phone. Note the extension that the new phone comes up with.
4) Now go to NetSet/User Configuration and find the extension from step 3, it will be listed as 'New User'. Highlight the extension and hit the 'Delete' button on the left.
5) Okay now find the user(extension) that needs the new phone and highlight it. Click on the 'Modify' button on the left.
6) Now, on the user configuration screen you will see the users extension, first name, last name, location, etc. To the right of that there is a scroll box with a list of the users phones and extensions. Locate the MAC Address of the new phone, which should have 3 asteriks (***) where the extension should be. Highlight that phone and hit 'OK'.
7) That users profile is now applied to that phone, check it a verify that everything went okay. Everything will be applied to the new phone button mappings, call forwarding, voice mail, everything. Now, Go to NetSet/Device Configuration and locate the old phone (by MAC Address) and delete it. Next, go back to NetSet/System Configuration/System Wide and uncheck the 'Auto Discover Telephone' box.
NOTE:
A) any Extension appearance on other phones or adjuncts will disappear
B) while the Button Mapping GROUP (Telephone Group) is tied to the user, any changes that you have made to the button mapping of the individual phone (like if you are using Bridged Station Appearances) will not be moved! Also, all other settings under the Telephone tab will not be moved (Low Bandwidth, Paging Output Disabled, IP Addresses, etc).
