Hello Gentlemen,

I have a handful of NEC DT700 IP phones with Nec std sip 2.3.51.17 firmware and would like to get them to 5.0.9.0 firmware so they can work with SV8100. going through this thread thread937-1774297, did not help me much. Anyone would be so kind to provide the right software and steps?

In the very least, how can I get a hold of IPPhoneManager? Anyone would be kind to point in the right direction?

It's a free download to any authorized NEC dealer. Contact your dealer. The firmware you are looking for is also available from an authorized dealer.

We don't have support for our system currently. Hence, can't get the download. I do have the firmware though.

The problem is, IPPhoneManager is a current NEC product. Contractual obligations prohibit authorized dealers from distributing it to non customers. I suggest referring to the thread you mentioned and use pumpkin or some other tftp server to do the software load. Pumpkin is what NEC suggests. Make sure you do not have any other tftp running and the port is open. I also suggest using a small hub and a power brick and connect directly the phone and PC thus elimination any possible network interference.

I truly appreciate the response. I completely understand. As you correctly pointed out, I tried following that thread. The person that managed to get it going used IPPM and cisco tftp (according to the pictures). No matter what I try, the NEC phone fails to download anything. I have disabled any firewall on my win 10 machine. there are 0 other tftp servers. I can ping the phone from the workstation. I followed your advice - pc and phone connected to the same switch. Nec phone powered by it's own power adapter. Based on the firmware I mentioned above, the only option that offers a choice for protocol is under Network/Boot Server. Under boot server i have the ip address, port and protocol. I input the ip of the PC where the tftp is running. under protocol i choose tftp. as for the port, the range is 1024-65... I have picked a variety of ports (which then I put in the tftp server), nothing happens. Not sure how to proceed from here. As for pumpkin, i choose Put and select the file and the ip address of the phone. it fails always - invalid opcode (0). What am I doing wrong?

Just to clarify, the phones have STD sip loaded (UC3)and you want to go to the NEC load?

There are 3 different files for the DT 700 phones. E, S, V, economy, sophisticated and value. 710, 720, 730, I believe. Make sure you are attempting to load the proper file.
itlisipe.tgz
itlisips.tgz
itlisipv.tgz

Thanks again sir. I do have all those three images and no matter which one I use, the outcome is the same - complete failure. The phone is an ITL-12D-1 (BK) DT700 series. Model ILV(XD)Z-Y(BK). When the phone reboots, it somehow shuts down the ethernet interface. I have a cmd windows in continuous ping and from the moment the phone reboots until after is shows LLDP receiving, the icmp pings fail. Then suddenly they come up and the phone displays "downloading config file". AFter a while it says "failed", then tries to download a couple more files. And they both fail. Finally it displays "incomplete config file" and "phone will reboot". I am not sure what I am doing wrong or missing.

Might just be a bad phone. I have taken a NEC SIP phone to a STD SIP load, but not the other way. Maybe someone else on this forum can add some insight.

Not sure about this but can you get into the menu on the phone and see the name of the file it will accept? On an NEC SIP phone under maintenance there is download menu where if needed you can enter the correct name of the file, once again not sure how that is setup on a STD SIP phone.

Gentlemen, I am very appreciative of all your input and patience in directing me to a successful result. I am sure a lot will benefit. About the Maintenance menu, these are the only options:

Reboot phone
Data clear
Key Kit
Side 2 Connector Mode

No Download option. I know what you mean by that as all of my other Nec phones (not on the SIP version mentioned at the beginning of this thread) have that option. Where do I do now?

Hi Pakterhelp

We are still using the nec dt700 phones running a very old firmware. Would you be kind enough to email over the firmware files? We have been looking all over to try and get hold of them, but have failed.

Thanks very much!

Would love to if I knew how to get it out. But, I would be happy to mail you the phone with the firmware on it if you can get me a prepaid label.

On another note, I will have a lot (20+) of DT700 phones up for grabs from our Culver City, LA office. If you or anyone is interested for a local pickup, let me know.
