Hi All,

There's probably a real simple answer to this but I cant think of how to do it...

We have a Rightfax server connected to our Definity via line side T1. We curently use it for outbound only but we want to start testing to get it to work for inbound.

The right fax guys asked me to set up a couple DID numbers that point to Rightfax which was easy enough to do (just pointed them the the RF huntgroup). But they are complaining that when someone calls rightfax using one of those numbers I set up, the call ID info that is getting to Rightfax is the Call ID of the person calling - and what they want is for RF to get the number that the person is dialing TO. Is there any way for me to send the number dialed info to RF, instead of the number that is placing the call? Thanks!!

you need to investigate "mode code", you would create stations of type "VMI", you must have mode-code enabled in the license to do this. Then put them in a hunt group... when you call them, they will inband signal via touch tone the Calling Party Number. There is also type VMIFD and VMISA for T1 integration, I beleive.

Thanks Mitch,

how can I tell if I alreday have this license? We have so much we dont use....

The installations that I have that go through the PBX use UDP and a T-1 Trunk between the PBX and the RightFAX server. That way on an inbound call it looks in the UDP table. If it belongs to the RightFAX it appends the appropriate digits, sends it to the AAR table and then on to the Route Pattern, where the inserted digits are removed.

4meravaya,

I looked at my UDP table - its empty. and my AAR digit conversion has only 2 entries. Can you post an example of your config so I can see how you did it? Does the UDP table intercept the inbound call and then do sort fo a strip/insert before it send to the RF server? When does the AAR come into play? thanks!!!!

I've posted my setup in this thread thread690-1446821

It has my UDP tables, AAR , and trunk group

I set this up once and created vdn's for each did number sending all to one vector using the "converse on" command sending the call to the Right Fax hunt group and passing "digits". The vector would look something like this:

01 wait-time 2 secs hearing silence
02 converse-on skill pri h passing digits and none
03 stop

Skill would be the Right Fax hunt group.

These look like great ideas...let me try 'em and see which works in our enviornment - I'll post results. Thanks!!!

Hi,

Zen216 - I dont have a Rightfax trunk group. Since out RF was for out bound only till now, we did not need one. Willthe rest of the stes you have in that string still work to allow me to send the dialed number to RF if I dont have a seperate trunk like you do?

canneverretire - I tried your steps but I cnat set up the 'converse on' because RF isn't a skill group, its just a regular hunt group. I suppose I could set it up as a skill group but then I'd have to find some way of getting RF to log on as an agent into the hunt...is that what you did?

Thanks!

The steps in my post would require that the RightFax server be tied to the PBX via a line-side t-1/trunk group

Hi,

I have a regular huntgroup and a lineside T1. I dont have a seperate inbound trunk group specifically for RF.

Any other ways to get the 'number dialed' info to RF instead of the true number that is calling in? Thanks!!

Hi Suzan,
I have rf server 8.0 trough E1. I will ask you after how you did the setup with T1 and hunt (station type FSDS1 ?) but before this how to build a Skill with agent attached to rf "stations" (see capture below)
Add hunt xxx => set acd, vector, queue to y on page 1 and Skill and AAS to y. AAS should stand for something like automatic attached station.

And add agent login xxxxx
Set the agent fields AAS to y and a 'Port extension' should appears, insert the extension of Rf station . Make one agentlogin per rf T1 channels. don't forget to assign the skill below.
This is commonly use for IVR purpose but should work for rf.

My question now , is how did you do to connect DS1 ports as station ? what is the station type on Avaya and what the fields to change on RF Manager ? it's very important for me to know that we can send outgoing fax from stations since my billing system is not working very well with tie trunk setup. in fact all outgoing fax are sent as Tandem calls and the condition code is 9 in cdr ... so my billing system accounting it as inbound call ....

Now if you want to try with T1 tie trunk you will have to delete your rfstation. add signaling group and isdn tie trunk. and now you have many way to route to rightfax with ANI sent.
Most simple but not really secure is to let RightFax trunk with Tac code enable and route your fax by a vector with a commande like route-to *913244 where *91 is the trunk access code and 3244 the rightfax extension (fax box).
Other way is to route-to *09 3244 where *09 is AAR analysis feature access code and add a range of digit matching you rf internal extension (digit routing if i remember wel)

Hope it can help
Regards

Working on Avaya S8700 and tampering with Asterisk !

Hi,

I remember now that the system I set up the vector using the "converse on" step did not have EAS activated and so we were able to set up a regular hunt group. It was a Castelle Fax Press they do post some integration info on their website. Check this out, its old but maybe it will work:

To configure the Definity G3 R Version 8 to work with FaxPress, program the following:

1- Create the HUNT GROUP: add hunt “number of the group”

With a hunt group, a call is forwarded to the first available FaxPress port, and, if that port is busy, automatically forwarded to the next available port.

2- Create the ACD AGENTS. Each ACD Agent corresponds to a FaxPress extension.
-add ag “number of the agent”. A new screen is presented. Fill in the following fields:
- SN(Skill Number) – enter the number of the HUNT GROUP;
- SL(Skill Level) – enter 1;
- AAS(Auto Available Service) – enter YES;
- Port Extension – enter the number of the extension connected to the FaxPress port.

3- Create the VECTOR
- change vec “number of the vector”. In the new screen, enter the following data:
- type Converse-On in the first field;
- In the Skill field, enter the number of the HUNT GROUP;
- In the Priority field, enter H. (It means “high.”)
- In the Passing field, enter the string: VDN;

Obs. : Once the DTMF is passed the vector will cut through the original call. The ports
will then go through the fax handshake routine; the rest is just like a normal fax call.

4- Create the Virtual Numbers, i.e the DID numbers associated with the Fax Box.
- add vdn “DID number associated with the Fax Box”. In the Vectoe Number field, enter the vector number you entered in step 3.:

Obs. : These VDNs will point to the vector programmed to pass DTMF to
FaxPress ports.

Not sure if this will work but it sure looks like it might be worth a try. Sorry for the bad copy/paste job.

Hi All,

canneverretire and vamosalavaya , I tried what you said (Actually, I paid Avaya to do it). Here's what they did, but it still wont work. Anybody see anything wrong with this? Could the issue be on the RF side?

Hi all,

I just wanted to post results in case anyone else ever comes across this. I trid the ACD agent method posted above, but it didn't pan out. In the end the config that did work was the method from Zen216. we now have calls routing to Rightfax, and the digits dialed show up on the Rightfax application. Thanks you to everyone who replied!!! This is the best website.
