Hi everybody!

I am tryin' to make a change to the number of digits that my SIP phones can dial in order to make calls to the PSTN. Right now, every user has to dial 9 and then dial the desired number. Since our local numering plan consist of eight digits, once you dial the eight digits, the call is made. But we are having a change in domestic dialing plans, so right now we need to dial ten digits.

We made the changes in the CM ARS ANALYSIS, and all the H.323 phones can dial using ten digits. But the SIP phones cannot. It is only until we make this change HOME-->OPTIONS & SETTINGS-->CALL SETTINGS-->DIALING OPTION: EDITABLE instead of ON-HOOK, that the phone can dial the ten digits after the 9 (DAC).

The question is, how can I make this change for the SIP phones to recognize or accept ten digits instead of only eight?

Here's a thread that touched on your subject:

Basically, CM dialplan data syncs to SMGR and is sent to SM and is then sent to the phone as PPM.
The difference with SIP phones is that they send an invite with the whole number - they need to know when they're done dialing. When it's h323, the PBX analyzes every digit and decides when the phone is finished dialing.

So, based on what's in your CM dialplan, that will get to the phone to decide what is considered "a complete number with no other possible matches" and when the phone quits letting you dial more.
