Hi,
I am trying to change the default font that Word uses as a substitute when opening documents that cotain a font that is not installed. At the moment it uses Symbols. I can't easily read symbols. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried doing Tools, Options, select the Compatibility tab, then clicking the Font Substitution button? This will allow you to choose which font to use as a substitute for a particular font if that font isn't on your system.

Hi, Dodom, Thanks for the info. I tried this but it seems to substitute fonts on a per document basis. My problem is someone changed the default font to use as a substitute to the Symbols font so that documents can't be read at all!
Regards.
