Hi

Ive just programmed ACD sets with ACNT key for Symposium Activity Codes.

I made changes by doing a CHG > ECHG> KEY x,

Thing is ive read a few threads suggesting that you should OUT the ACD TN and rebild it.

What is the reason for this??

Wow...good luck with your PBX!

Echg on ACD sets causes corruption, always out and rebuild!!

If it's acquired in Symposium:
Deacquire and delete
DISU TN
Out and rebuild
Go back to Symposium and re-acquire

If not:
DISU TN
Out and rebuild

You can also have corruption with changing names for ACD sets
To change a name go to LD 95 and always out the name, then add as new.

Not following the right procedure will eventually corrupt data. Most of the time depending on how bad the corruption is Nortel is contatced for resolution by your switch maintenance vendor.

Be Careful!

Damn, i will cross my fingers and hope then.

I had 40 + extn's to program all with saved Autodials on keys and all diffent CLS, so i would find it very long winded to take a print of each set and then re enter one by one.

Does the same apply to the CPY command with ACD?

yes, do not cpy an acd set.. best thing to do is save a copy of your switch in excel as a ref...

Think ive made a big mistake. :(

I ECHG'd 40 ACD sets while they were Aqcuired by Symposium.

Does the same apply if you change a set the long way (not using ECHG)???

yes, it's hard to believe that the switch stayed up

Yeh, it stayed up no problem.

Switch has been ok for 5 days now. So maybe luck was on my side???

Even though it has stayed up it doesnt mean that something is not corrupted. You might not even notice it right away, but corruption is like a cancer in the PBX and could emerge sometime later on.

I have an Option 11 that we are going to have to reload today because of corruption.
