Some how I created a mesh object (i'm a newbie). The knife tool won't cut a mesh. I don't really need a mesh anyway.

Is there a way I can delete the mesh properties from the object?

Thanks.

Whay:

In the appearance palette, choose "add new stroke", then Object>Expand appearance, then group-select the path, invert the selection and delete the mesh, now you have a path that follows the mesh outlines.

To be left with a path grid image of the mesh, apply a grid to it, then expand and voila!
