I’m installing many 9650 IPT sets and after it boots I need to change an option on the 9650 IP set under “Menu/Options & Settings/Call Settings/Pair Contacts to Calls”. The default is set to “Off” so I change it to “On” and save changes. Is there a setting in “46xxsettings.txt” file that will make the default setting “On” for this feature when the 9650 IP sets boots up for the first time?

Hi njodonnell

We have solved as follows. Before a new extension is registered at the ACM , we save for every new extension a 96xxdata.txt file to the backup server.
The command "Contacts Pairing=1" sets ehat you want.

The file has this content:
***************************************************************
Redial=1
Go to Phone Screen on Ringing=1
Visual Allerting=1
Log Bridged Calls=1
Personalized Ring=0
Headset AGC=0
Error Tone=1
Text Size=1
Contacts Pairing=1
Voice Initiated Dialing=1
Voice Initiated Dialing Language
******************************************************************

Thanks ralphino, so in my case I would only have "Contacts Pairing=1" in my 96xxdata.txt file. This file will be in the backup server so at that point when we initialize each 9650 set it will have this option turned on?

Not quite. Program one phone the way you want it. Look on the backup server and you will see a data file with the phone extension in the name. You need to copy/paste this file and rename for each new extension. When you log a user into a phone with that extension, it will retrieve the previously-made backup file and program itself accordingly.

Thanks gwebster. It looks like this may not be what I'm looking for. If this is the case then each extension will need the sets data file optioned with this feature. Right now the field techs internalize and back up each 9650 set then they option it for "Pair Contacts to Calls" turned on. So the time it takes to manually turn on this feature would take less time that baking it up and copy and pasting and making a new data file for each 9650 set. The idea is to reduce the time it takes to install each 9650 set.

What gwebster is saying is to configure one phone set the way you want it. Then before connecting any other phone sets is to copy the 96xxdata.txt file for the extension you just configured the way you want and save it with the new of the next extension. Ie copy 96xxdata_12345.txt to 96xxdata_23456.txt. The connect the new extension (23456 in this example) and log it in. It will go an get the backup file as part of the login sequence. It will now have the config you want in it.
