So we made the change to dial out 8 instead of 9, everything is working swimmingly except the dial out from phone log is still attaching a 9 to the log. I went an adjusted the 46xx file

## Outside line access code
## The number you press to make an outside call.
SET PHNOL 8

Am I missing something here? Now it is just dialing the number from the log without an 8 or 9...im pretty confused. Help please!? Anyone have this happen?

Prefix setting on the Line ? =)

I never did have a prefix before, do I need to set one to 8 now that I did the change?

Does it have 9 today?

Right now, it doesnt show anything in prefix, and it never has. Its a PRI24, with DID's. And its spanned over two PRI's if any of that matters. But, it never had it before.

Im thinking its something in there too, but from what ive read this can all be done in the 46xxx settings file. Im really not certain it would hurt anything... so I could test it, but it also requires a reboot, which is not as easy as you may think, given this customer.

The settings file is ignored in that case. That parameter is only used on CM and/or SIP endpoints. And digital stations will never know about these settings ;-)

Jannie is right about the prefix settings in you PRI trunks (don't forget to add the prefix for both of them)

The settings file is controlling our phones. It made the change from 9 to 8, it just doesn't dial the 8 now. We have 5620s. Im going to set it back to default, re-upload the phones file to the phone, and try the prefix. Thank you.

Bump....

I put the 8 in the prefix, and it didnt work. I changed the 46xx settings files back, but that still isnt working, am I missing something?
