What is the easiest way to convert a Model 500 to a Model 2616. I already out both phones and now I am trying to build the 2616. I rewired the closet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
You can not configure a 2616 in the place of a 500 set.
500 sets and 2616 sets use different cards on the system.
A 500 set use FALC (Analogue Line Card) and 2616 use DLC (Digital Line Card)
Also a 500 set is configured in LD10 and 2616 is configured in LD11.
Hi Paul
the easiest way to do this is to copy (cpy) an existing 2616
ld 11
req,,cpy
type..2616
cftn( copy from existing tn eg 4 0 1 0)
tn (new tn)eg 4 0 4 4
dn (directory Number)
<cr> back to req
then make any changes to CLS etc that you need to
Thanks for the advice. I was able to build the new phone however the display is not working. When someone internally calls just the extension displays.
If I OUT the 500 (ext 3112) set, does that remove the VoiceMail associated with 3112? Is there a way to keep the VoiceMail when converting a 500 set with the 2616. I have both sets of cards in the PBX.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
the mail does not consider the station type. on a 500, the only diff in cls is lpa or lpd lamp allow gives you a lamp lpd give you stutter dial tone. mail boxes do not have to have a exten in the switch, when you out a phone the md stays forever unless you out it in mermail
