Change Word 97 Default language

While attempting to change language from english(US) to english (UK) default it changes OK. Yet as soon as client opens a new word document english (US) is the default

What is your REGIONAL SETTING set to under CONTROL PANEL-REGIONAL SETTINGS?

Hi

English. All the other clients machines are set up exactly the same and it is only this one.
