I have an branch office with an older IP Office. I'm not familiar with an IP Office switch, but I support our S8500 Media Gateway at our corporate office. An associate at the branch office needs to change her VM greeting because she inherited the extension from someone who is no longer with the company. Where do I go about changing her VM box password?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. That's exactly what I did and the user is saying the password I reset it to is not working. I did it again just now for good measure. Does merging the config mean that it updates without the need to reboot? Might a reboot of the switch be in order? I don't know what else to try.

Reset it again, then YOU try and access the voicemail box. Confirm with user her extension number.

Please forgive my ignorance with IPOffice. I'm not in the same state as the user. I assume that I can call into the VM system remotely and try to log into that VM box. Is there typically one number that I dial to access the VM system and then tell it what extension I want to log into, or is there a code to use on her individual extension?

Thanks again for the help.

I answered my own question and was able to test remotely. I can confirm that the password change did not take.

Sometimes it takes a few minutes to resync.

You can force the sync be restarting the voicemail service or you may have to wait.

Maybe you can force a sync by leaving them a voicemail but I am not sure.

Are you sure you're changing the correct user? My experience is that the change takes only a couple of seconds after the merge.

On the desktop of the PC that I remote into to manage the IPOffice switch, there was a batch file that said "Reset Voicemail." On a whim, I ran it and it went through a process of restarting the voicemail service. After it was done, I was able to log in with the new password.

Yipee!!!

Thanks for the help everyone!
