how do i change the query that a report uses?

i hope this is an easy one hehe...

Open the report in Design view. Go to its Properties. Change the Record Source to whatever query you wish to use.

where specifically do i click to find the properties for the report?

it seems like everywhere i click and select properties there is not information under data.

i just want to find out what query the report is using.

thanks

You can get to the report's Properties in 3 different ways. All require you to be in the report's Design view.

1. Go to the View tab, and then Properties.

2. In the upper left corner of the report layout itself, there is a little black square. Double click that, and then Properties.

3. Right click on the shaded area outside the report layout, and then Properties.

In Properties, what you want is the Record Source, which is at the top of the property list. Whatever is there is what the report is currently using. If you want to change the Record Source, click in that line and a down arrow will appear at the right side, and you can select a different record source (either table or query).
