Hi all guys,

I am my client's new system administrator and have one month to change all passwords on the platform.

Changing passwords is not really a problem, but I don't know where to link to other machines.

That is to say, I suppose that since from the SMGR you can access almost all the platform in some place of your user configuration you have to indicate the new password for the CMs, Messaging.

The network is made up of the following machines:

2 CM with HA
2 SM
1 AES
1 AAM
1 SMGR
1 US
1 WEBLM
1 SAL

Sorry about my English and if it's not the right forum assignment.

Thank you very much for your help

Can you indicate what software versions these servers are running?

Yeah sorry,

Totally my fault.

CM R016x.03.0.124.0
SMGR 6.3
SM 6.3.10
AES 6.3.3.0.10-0
US-6.3.0.0.20-e51-01
AAM S016x.03.0.141.0 (Installed on another CM)

Regards.

Already know how to change the SMGR password, the CM password, but i dont know if changing the password would affect the service. Because i dont know how the server vinculations work.

I cant find how to change the SM, AES, AAM password.

Are these on System Platform or VMWare?

If System Platform/VSP - Make sure you get the cdom and dom0 passwords changed. Once in these systems you will also have better visibility to what is actually installed and also is the interface to patch a lot of products.

VMWare - just the products only. You've got it covered.

AAM Password change - SMI/web ui, might not have root.
SM - via command line - might not have root.
AES - SMI/web ui, might not have root.

Between 6.3.x and 7.x software root disappeared for a lot of these.

Those are on VMWare

¿Is there any docummentation for the SM? i only can find ones that don't have the actual admin PW, i want to change it not to reset it.

And when i change the AES PW i dont have to indentidy it the CM about the change in any way?

Many thanks guys

AES Switch link password? well, you'd have to update CM yes. Not the administrative users that administer the system.
