It's been a whle since I made the changes to the Dial Plan. I will have to open up the leading digit "7" (currently set up as 3-digit FAC only) for some 4-digit extensions without having any impact on all the existing FAC codes we use.
I have planned out the changes based on the current FAC usage. Based on my expecirnece from the last change, no services were affected. Currently, "7xx" still has "73", "74", "77" and "78" unused. I plan to change "7" from all 3-digit "fac" to the segmented items, such as "70" for all the 3-digit existing "fac" codes, and "73" as the new 4-digit extensions, etc.
Thanks in advance for your inputs!

You will need to create a temporary DAC for each of your trunk groups (and loudspeaker paging) while you make the change. You don't mention the software version, but in some of the older releases you will have to create a 2nd digit table.

4merAvaya,

We have ACM1.3. You're correct, our older version had to deal with 2nd digit table.
The leading digit "7" I am going to change is currently set to 3-digit "fac" which should not affect my "tac" blocks with the leading digit "8" used by all the trunk groups as TAC codes.

Thanks for your response!
