Is it possible to change the TMP folder location in Windows XP?

I work on a network that has both Windows 98SE and Windows XP operating systems. I can change the temp folder in the autoexec.bat file on a Windows 98SE computer.

How can I do this on a Windows XP computer? Or, is it even possible?

The reason I want to do this is to set up a default folder when exporting a file from a report writer software, so that the user doesn't have to change evrytime they export a file.

open up system properties
(right click my computer > properties)

click on the advanced tab and click on environment variables at the bottom of the page. it will show you the environment variables for the user and the system. they are stored in the registry if you want to play around in there though i don't recomend it.

cheers
