Hello

Im wondering if this is possible in CR?

I want to change the order of the sorting in a report by clicking on the value in the report header.

As an example this can be done with a datagrid in .NET and i want to do the same thing in the report.

Ive searched but havent really found anything matching this?

Regards
Anders

They built this capability into CR 2008 and BOE XI 3.0. It didn't exist prior to that.

Thank you for that answer...

BOE XI 3.0 stands for business objects enterprise ???

I havent really touched the CR 2008 - is it secure to run this so soon after its release?

I've created reports that allowed the user to click on a column header and sort the table asc or dsc.

The only way, prior to CR 2008, was to use CR Xi R2, WebElements, BOXi R2 and lots of JavaScript. Each report was viewed within Infoview in BOXi and each sorting click meant refreshing the report.

It wasn't the quickest rpt on the block, however, the users loved having the same functionality as a Webi report.

Sam, there are other ways besides WebElements.

You can see a 1-minute video demonstrating the click-to-sort functionality in my DataLink Viewer software at:

This functionality does NOT require a report refresh and it can be used for report versions prior to Crystal 2008. The downside is that the report developer needs to add a few formulas in order to enable this functionality.

view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.
