Hi,

My RDP is going very slow, sometime cannot connect at all over a very stable 4Mpbs link. I've been told to change MTU on router Cisco 1811, but I was not able to find where to do it. I found some ip tcp mss, but I don't know whether it is right one as an beginner in CISCO.
IOS version is 12.4.

Thank you for your time.

on the desired interface...
ip tcp adjust-mss <mss value>
where <mss value> = desired MTU - 40 (ie mtu=1492 mss=1452)

is your connection dsl??

I hate all Uppercase... I don't want my groups to seem angry at me all the time! =)

Apparently, it was a hardware router problem. We had to change it.
We have a fiber connection.

Thank you for your replies.

The router we changed had some issues which made it respond quite slow. I did erase, and reconfigure again, but it didn't help. I'm assuming that doing that would eliminate any software problem. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Is there anything like any firmware upgrade, or any other update that CISCO releases periodically which I could try to install to see if anything helps.

Thank you
