We are in the process of changing our IP address scheme on the entire network. I am fairly new to the Definity systems and I would like to know what needs changed in all of our phone systems. We currently have several of the following: G3R, G3si, G3csi. We also have an S8700 connected with two S8300s at separate sites.

From the information I have found, the two commands I need to use for this are "change ip-interfaces" and "change node-names ip".

Is there anything that I am missing? Is there a specific order that things should be done?

Thanks for all the help!

In addition to the PBX products that you listed, you may have to include: CMS, Intuity AUDIX, eCAS (CDR), & IVRs.

Changing addresses can get pretty tricky. You may want to consider bring in Avaya or a Business Partner to either consult or do the work.

Hello marbear,

I noticed this thread as I was searching how to change ip addresses. My organization is also changing the ip addressing scheme and I was wondering if you have completed it on your end and had any additional information to share. I am working with S8720 and sw version 3.1.2.

Thanks in advance.

Hi canneverretire!

Due to the complex nature of our system with 2 remote sites, old P330 Cajun switches and sw version 2.1.1, we decided to have our phone maintenance vendor do this work. It still has turned out to be quite the project. We are on our fourth attempt to complete all the IP changes. We had a couple of issues that our data/network people had to work out.

I am fairly new to the Avaya world. I completed the IP changes for our other sites with the G3si and G3R but I am glad we decided to have the vendor do the work for the S8700 family.

Hope that little bit helps!!
