Hi, when I sit down to the clients computer for changing IP Address I need to login as an administrator to have right access right? can I log as an administrator in dos command sames as the RUN US feature [ponder]

THANKS

Hey,
runas is probably the command you are looking for. You can type "runas /?" for more info.

You would probably be looking at type the following command:
"runas /noprofile /user:("COMPUTER NAME HERE")\administrator cmd"

Good Luck!

I have more than 100 clients and all of them have static IP address. Can I change thier IP address by using the GP Policy script with the NETSH?

Any idea [ponder]

Just out of curiosity.....Why so many static IP's Would not DHCP and DNS be a much more maintainable system?

I think you can not do this through GP but would need to run a kix or batch script through GP so that the scrip would execute as the domain admin.

Can't see why you'd need static addresses. But, if it was me, I'd configure reservations for them in DHCP, then set each to dynamic on the workstations. Problem solved. You have them with static addresses, yet can see which ones are using which address.

Actually I have a mixed configuration right now.. And I really want to make them all under the DHCP.. That is why I want to put a policty in GP so that all clients will be automatically changed to DHPC. Is there a way to do that? is that posible[ponder]

Thank you.
