we have a hunt group set up on the incoming call route such that four extensions will ring initially, and then the call will go out to all extensions if unanswered.

we also have a voicemail set up on 102 and the incoming call route sends out of hours calls to that. all of the first hunt croup can pick up those voicemails - they see the red LED on the handset.

we want to be able to turn voicemail diversion on ad hoc during the day - when we are short staffed, for example. at the moment it is done by a time profile. we ideally want to just program a button on the handset which diverts all incoming calls to 102 for later pickup.

note that this is different to individual voicemail setup - we want these kinds of calls to go to the 'main' voicemail inbox, not just one single user.

any suggestions?

Create a button to put the hunt group 'out of service' and on the hunt group set 102 as the out of service destination.

Just be careful anytime you use both a time profile and a button on where the time profile is making the change. If you say use a time profile at the ICR level, during hours it goes to a group but after hours doesnt go to that group, that means that after hours you lose the ability to modify the routing with the button.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

thanks both - the out of service destination didn't seem to work so we added 102 to the fallback tab for that group, which seems to work...

useful to note re the time profile, critchey - do you mean that that when the time profile kicks in, it resets the button choice, or does it interfere with it in a different way?

If you do the time profile in the incoming call route, instead of in the group, then likely the night destination will never hit the group so toggling the group status will have no effect.

IE
Incoming call route has default time profile and open time profile
Open is pointed at 200main which has a night button that toggles it into and out of night
Default time profile points directly at the auto attendant

In this above situation once you get to night you are pointing directly at the night AA, and no longer at 200main, so toggling 200main has no effect.

Hopefully that all makes sense.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
