Hi, all

Simple question.

Im change parameters in dsm.opt file with notepad. Is necesary restar the client so that take the change??

Regards!

That depends.

If you have a running session of dsmc or dsm, then yes, you will need to exit and restart to detect the new options.

If you are running "dsmc sched" on UNIX as a background process, or a TSM schedule service on Windows, then you will need to stop and restart these in order to detect the new options.

If, however, you are using the Client Acceptor Daemon to manage your schedule service, then that will perform periodic restarts of the schedule service for you.
