I have a hunt group pointing to 493, but 493 is not in service. Someone has suggested to change the DN. How do I do that?

hunt groups dont point to numbers, they have extension numbers in them ...

it is under sys programing> hunt group

specify the group number and then delete the old member and add a new one

I believe that Hunt group DNs are assigned by the system, and cannot be changed. For example Hunt group 1 may have 493 assigned to it, Hunt group would then have 494 assigned, etc. Hunt group DNs are therefore outside of the "normal" DN range. Hunt group DN numbers cannot be deleted. You can reprogram the existing Hunt group to do what you want, or create a new one. As far as the "pointing" is concerned. Calls must be extended to the Hunt group DN through the Automated Attendant, CCR, direct dial (if DID), transfer, etc.

You CAN change the hunt group DN by just changing it under SYS Programming-Change DNS. If you have a DN assigned to a particular hunt group that does not have a phone attached, it will produce "not in service" errors.
