Change Default Sort Method for Windows Icons 1

Hi,

Does anyone out there know how to change the default sort setting for Windows Icons.

Basically, when I open say... My Comuter everything is listed backwards.

The same when I open a folder of MP3s, they are listed Z - A instead of A - Z.

Its just really annoying having to re-sort them all the time.

Any help would be great.

Hi,

Just open the windows say ur MP3 folder and then click on VIEW--->ARRANGE ICONS---->BY NAME.

This is all very well but its not permanent.

The next time I open the folder the files are arranged backwards again.

Thats why I need to change the default

Any more Ideas?

Once You say view - arrange icons - by name..
do the following..in windows explorer

Go to tools- folder options - view tab - folder views - apply to all folders - ok

Try this...Right click My Computer, choose Explore.....then click the "name" tab in top of right pane till the order is appropriate......then hold CTRL+SHFT keys while closing window by clicking "x" on far top right......
See if this sticks....

Theres no need to follow the Folder Options route, your answer fixed the problem
