I have a working Crystal Report Mailing Label that uses a particular template. The user now wishes to change to a different Avery label format, outputting the same data.

Is there an easy method of changing the template without rewriting the complete Crystal Report ?

A crystal report 'template' is actually a style that is imposed on an existing report. Use 'Save As' to get a spare version and then select a template for it. It should work OK.

It helps to give your Crystal version.

Thanks Madawc

Crystal Reports v9 and also XI.

Maybe 'template' is wrong descriptor, I'm talking about the label layout e.g. L5813, that is selected when creating a mailing label report. I don't see an option in v9 to select a different label layout e.g. L7163 when 'saving as'.

Go to printer setup, paper size will be the label you can select. I couldn't find exactly one i needed so I've picked the same measurements and it works fine. i was making it for DYMO printer, it was tough but finally it worked. Good luck!

I just checked - I think you need to have that label printing option to be selected in Printer Name window and then it gives you labels sizes, otherwise if plain paper selected it has no label sizes accociated with it.

Thanks Ladyazh.

Here they are using Konica 420A4e multifunction printers. They have no specific label options when selecting printer or paper options from Crystal Reports. Any further suggestions ?
