I'm hoping someone can help me. If someone is currently an office worker and they are moving to Telecommuting, do you have to delete their extension and then reset it up as telecommuting access? I'm assuming they can still get to their audix box once you change their extension to a telecommuting access. If someone from the outside dials into the number, they aren't going to hear the confirmation tone, will they? Is this the preferred way to give the person the ability to change their own cov paths and call forwarding? Thanks for your help.

Hi ke4qfp,

Depending on what system you are using... (I have a G3 V12 with Octel 250.)

This may or may not apply.

I simply create a coverage path with point 1 being the "Rxx" from the REMOTE CALL COVERAGE TABLE

Point1: r122 Rng: 3 Point2: h99

This routes to r122 and then to voicemail (h99)

Callers will not hear the confirmation tone when they call the number.

Hope this helps; please let me know if you have other questions regarding my setup.

You give the person telecommuting access by giving them a security code on their extension. You'll also want to change their COR so they can "change cover paths". Then you set up a differed number (usually a DID) for the Telecommuting access extension.

That user would then dial the telecommuting access extension, put in the Feature Access Code for the feature they want to use (For example: "Changing Coverage Path"), Enter their extension followed by #, then their security code followed by #, then the cover path that they want to use (1 or 2). Cover path 1 and Cover Path 2 should be assigned on their extension.

They can also call forward their phone by using the "Extended Call Forwarding" FAC, then their Extension #, then their Security code #, then the number they want to forward to.

Thanks for your help. So, the telecommuting access number is a totally seperate number and can be used by any number of telecommuters? I'm going to try this and I'll let you know how I make out. Thanks so muchl! I appreciate it.

It worked!! Thanks Marcell55 for your help. I already had most of it set up, cov path ,etc, but I couldn't figure out the Telecommuting piece. I appreciate your help very much.
