I need to change the default gateway to 10.0.0.254

Does the link to the PBX drop when I do this?
Do I have to reboot the CMS server?

The syntax I'm planning on using from the root prompt is:

route add default 10.0.0.254

CMS R14
Routing Table: IPv4

Destination Gateway Flags Ref Use Interface

-------------------- -------------------- -----

192.168.3.0 192.168.3.4 U 1 6250 bge1

10.0.0.0 10.0.0.61 U 1 18391 bge0

224.0.0.0 10.0.0.61 U 1 0 bge0

default 10.0.0.1 UG 1 20

127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1 UH 20 2654 lo0

All of the routing changes that I've done in CMS are through the /etc/hosts file. I would recommend a reboot after making the change.

The default router is defined in /etc/defaultrouter file. This file can contain an ipaddress of the default router or a name. If it is a ipaddress change it here, if it is name edit the /etc/hosts file find the name and change the ipaddress. A reboot is required to make this change take affect.

The route add command will add another route but this will be lost on the next reboot.
