We are changing carrier for a long Distance T1. I am a cisco not a phone tech, but I knbow a little bit about the definity.
I scheduled the turn up for the circuit today, pluged the new T insted of the current one we are using, MCI sending it to the same DNIS digit. they get a ring then a fast busy signal.
I expected that the way the current T1 is set it will be the exact same as the new one, so i did not change anything to the existing configuration, I know how to locate the T1 on the Definity by typing display sync, but anything else I really don't know. the new T1 config from the providor are
Framing/Coding: ESF/B8ZS or D4/AMI : ESF/B8ZS
Signaling: E&M Wink or E&M Immediate: DTMF Wink
Number of DNIS Digits: 4
Account Codes: Yes or No. If Yes, please provide list. no

can someone let me know how I can I get the config on the existing T1 through Definity. I mean what to do next display
sync command if you are a voice technician??? thanks

You have to know which slot the board is in (ie B17).
Then: display or change DS1 B17
this is where you check the ds1 settings, line codeing and framing.
You also need to know which trunk group it is used for.
List tr.. then display or change tr#
You will need to check the trunk type.

I have an mci circuit that is set up as: b8zs/d4
with the trunk type set for: wink/wink

is the t-1 a PRI? if so you will also need to set up a d-channel.

you need to add a signal group.

add sig XX

you can also status the trunk by typing

sta trunk XX

To see if trunk is up or down.

You also need to know if the new T-1 is set up by MCI for National or Custom protocal. Once you find out, you need to make sure the "protocal version" field on your DS1 form is set to match. Protocal version a = Custom, protocal version b = National or NI2.

One more thing to check is that some LD vendors do not want a 1 sent to them for setup digits. I know AT&T is that way. So for domestic LD you need to strip the leading 1 and for international you need to strip the leading 011.

You also may need to change the Service type in the route patterns.

The person who set the trunk group seem to set 3 T1 within the same Trunk Group 2 for our long Distance, the configuration on the Trunk group is set for the same config as the verizon Circuit. The only thing I see that is different is
Incoming Tone (STMF) ANI: *ANI*DNIS*. bridgcom told me the ANI is to show the caller id of the caller. when we did the testing on Fri, they sent the call straight to our DNIS #, they will try testing the line by sending to ANI first and will see if it will work. I will let you guys know how did it go, but thanks alot for the help so far..

The DNIS digits they send will route to that extension within your switch.

The testing went fine, thank you all. I have another question
what is the best way to find outr long distance charges made by a user who is just set just for a station. is there anyway to find out the charges made by any user from his phone.

You should have something called as CDR - call detail recording enabled on the definity.

Otherwise if at all u need to trace this out then the person sitting on that station has to be logged on to a skill using an agent login ID.

Robonix....

If a call CDR is enabled. then I can show all outgoing calls on any station??. is there a way to do it by a trunk grouping method?

there are alot of articles on this board talking about CDR, which program, or straight text. (with the right package) you can report on a specific station, or on specific trunks.
