Hi Guys,

I am seeing this entry in my history:

6/26 20:55 MAINT user1 cha secondary-us

Can anyone tell me what this is?

I can't find any reference to it online or in the manual, additionally if I try to run this command, the switch says it is an invalid entry.

Thanks.

really, when i log in through asa it never shows that against mine?

is it a specific part of asa that leaves that trace?

Can't you ask "user1" what (s)he was doing at 20:55?

Unfortuantely we haven't been able to contact them as they are on annual leave.

Aha!
I found this on another forum;

"The ch secondary-us is a logging command for newer communication manager system 4.0 and above. Basically the newer CM systems allow multiple users to be in a change command at one time"

I would look to see if there are other changes just before/after in the hist.

I believe it is part of the mechanism that Avaya is using to allow superuser privileges. sy278 are you a member of the suser group? If not that is why your logon is not shown executing the command.

Thanks for that but the strange thing is there are no other changes in the hitory anywhere near that time.

try running a simple report from ASA, try doing "list trunk-groups", then once it's done, go into your CM & do list history.

That command appeared with CM4.0 and you only see it when you initially log in. I can be the only person in the switch and see that command upon login so it is not from 2 people making a change at the same time. I would love to know the answer to this. To date no one that I have spoken to can give me a straight answer. Many refer back to the avayausers post that Roster stated above. Who knows...

Are they not back yet?
