Hello,

I just installed IIS 5 on my system and need a cgi-bin but there's none. Do I need to create one or is there one already there but called something else? If I need to create one, what are the steps in doing so...

I went to and typed in cgi-bin and found this site that I think will help you. CGI - Common Gateway Interface. It is the first site recommended by Google.
Hope this helps.

You need to visit ASPN ( and download Active Perl. Follow the instruction carefully and you will be all set. Just finished installing it myself a week ago.

You also need to make sure that you give permissions to that directory to run "Scripts and executables". Just right click on the directory in IIS, and you should see a drop down box with that as an option.
