We have many phones with a CFXA cls of service
we are CTD. If I change all sets to CFXA will this prevent
people from hacking in? Will there be a difference?

Thanks

CFXA = Call Forward External Allowed.

CTD = Conditionally Toll Denied.

If you change all of your phones to CFXA you stand a greater chance of getting toll fraud.

if a set is cfxa, forward it to 9.. when you call it, you'll get outside dial tone, not a good thing. most toll hackers use the phone mail to dial in and out. just stop any recording,try the ext then the ext number backwards.. then set the 0 out option to the number you wanted to call, call back dial 0 and your call goes through.. the best protection is a audit by a good sl1 tech.. change mb passwords to 6 or more digits. limit password attempts to 3 and use fac.. over 7 digits...a local company was hit with 40k because the operator was getting calls from a test center, she was instructed to hit 9 transfer connect...she did, 50 times... the calls were from a prison, and were tracked because the 1 ld t1 was tied up with calls to south america for over 10 hours
