when i try and access db files through studio i get an alert telling me authentication failed for user

i have tried setting all passwords on my server (o'reilly) and in cf server. server admin will verify data sources but i can't get at them. very frustrating losing hair, putting weight on generally pissed off

pls help

In your cf admin basic security, you set a password for CF Studio. This is what allows your RDS connections. Turn it off for now.

Now in studio in your FILES tab on the resource pane, add an RDS server.
Type the IP address of your server in the Host Name box.

This should be all you need.
Now when you select the databases tab, select the RDS server you just added and you should get a list of all datasources on that machine.
