CFNA to an external number on a CICS 1.0

One of my customer has a CICS version 1.0 with 2 digits extensions.
I'm trying to call forward no answer (CFNA) an outside incoming call to ext. 23 to an external number after 4 rings.
Is it possible on that software version?

Set 23 has access to line pool A and redirect.
I've tried different combinations of routes (001) and destination codes (73) (8)
I get an invalid number message even trying to just simply call forward that extension to an external number, never mind CFNA.

What am I doing wrong?

4.1 and up is required for External Transfer

Your so far back I would advise to go to 7.1.

Be aware of your voicemail version and compatibly.
Which vmail and software version do you have?

The customer decided to upgrade his CICS to 7.1 software and Flash 2.0
I am currently programming another CICS to be able to switch equipments rapidly and minimize downtime.

What is it that controls what destination code I’m able to program? In the past I’ve used 8 or 70. In this CICS, the only one I can use is 20.

When I made a test with 7.0 software and only 1 line card I was able to use 7 or 8 but now I have 2 line cards and an 8 station expansion card.
Extensions are 2 digits, ranging from 21 to 36 and 57 to 64.

Did you first do a STARTUP on the CICS? that's a must to wipe out all programming.

Otherwise look at all these culprits:

External Code <----default is 9
Pool Codes
Dest Codes

Sometimes dialing the digits provide a clue on the display and/or the line appearances.

Best to start DN's at 3 digits in case they ever want to utilize Hunt Groups.

The CICS I’m programming had a 7.0, I installed a 7.1 and did a startup on it.

External code is 9 (default?)
Pool A is 9

I don’t mind 20 as a destination code, it’s just that I can’t get my head around how it really works.

I will talk to my customer about 3 digits DN’s maybe this will open up other dest. codes possibilities including Hunt Groups.

Yes, remove the 9 in pool A and External Code so that you can use 9 as a Dest Code.

I used 21-?
I will try your suggestion.
Will I lose any programming if I change DN’s length from 2 to 3 digits?

Not on the KSU but on the voicemail will need to default it and re-program from scratch via REINSTALL.
