CFML Hosting - What's the going rate?

Hello friends!

As many of you have, or so is my assumption, I need to find costing factors to hosting an eCommerce web site written in CFML.

The application will function as Store Front and data entry administration. Data should transfter from host to local computer to keep non-virtual store in synch with web site.

Local computer runs C application written for SCO UNIX platform (legacy application).

In other words, it goes beyond hosting a web site, there should be data transfer between CF eStore and UNIX based application ... Of course, they have not ask for reporting but that can be assumed as a fact!

There is a lot of truth to the adage "You get what you pay for".

There is not a simple answer to that -- It really all depends on the needs of your site, how much disk space, the database you are going to use, etc. I am not familiar with many Unix based cfhosting sites, but there may be one out there.

The best suggestion that I can make is to look at some of cf user groups and get suggestions there as well. I use crystaltech.com and have been with them for almost a year and have never had a problem with them. They have various plans, but I believe they are all NT based. Your best bet may be to go with a dedicated server or colocation setup. But this is a whole lot more $$$.
