Background: I have 2 Servers running CF 5 Ent. Ed. on IIS 4 (dual Proc x86,1GB RAM, NT4) and running in a Cluster useing CF ClusterCATS. Both servers are identical.

Issue: One of my servers is responding markedly slower than the other. In my investigation I have found one of the IIS processes (inetinfo.exe) seems to be mis-behaving on this one server only. One, it is dominating CPU time, Two, it seems to have a memory leak. There seems to be a corrilation between inetinfoexe and ntconsoljava.exe because both of these processes spike the procs every 5 to 8 seconds. I have applied the Java dll fix I found on Macromedia's website, but I am still expierencing the issue. The problem gets progressivly worse until the response time is so bad I am forced to reboot the machine(Thank you Microsoft). Any suggestions?

Okay, I applied the fix on both of my servers, didn't solve the issue. In the mean time I have been looking more closely at the problem. I am noticing several re-occurring messages in my application event log. They are originating from the Allaire application. The AllaireMIB messages read “error: failure to connect to url: or “error: Failure to connect to server (servername) to get ClusteCATS admin data”, which are followed by a whole bunch of the Allaire information messages. They seem to cycle about every 5 to 10 minutes. MIB error follow by NT_MS_IIS info messages. Here is a sample from the event log.

Allaire AllaireMIB: Failure to connect to url:
Allaire wsprobe: Wsprobe: Web server failed, err = 3. Restarting web server...

Allaire AllaireMIB:Success in connecting to ColdFusion information: after previous connection failure(s).

Allaire Wsm: WEB server stopped.

Allaire WINNT_MICROSOFT_IIS: Terminating.

Allaire WINNT_MICROSOFT_IIS: Starting: Build date: May 11 2001 08:56:13 Version: 5.0-9999 Windows_NT 586 Fri May 11 08:42:23 EDT 2001-1.5

Allaire Wsm: WEB server started.

Allaire WINNT_MICROSOFT_IIS: Server (servername) joining Cluster (pcmacs)

Allaire Wsm: WEB server started.

Allaire wsprobe: Wsprobe: Web server failed, err = 3. Restarting web server...

As you can see it is a bit of a cycle. I also notice that the #2 server pops in and out of the cluster on a regular basis. I don’t have much expertise on the Cold Fusion product so any help y’all can offer would be much appreciated.
