Hi All
Does any one has the book "Visual FoxPro Certification Exams Guide" by Cindy Winegarden and Evan Delay?

If you are done with it, I can buy it.

Thanks and Regards

Hi FoxLearner,

You might be able to pick up a used copy at Amazon. Search for the book, and follow the link to "Marketplace".

As Mike G said, you can buy a new copy from Hentzenwerke, but be aware that the site he gave you is only good if you are in the USA (and maybe Canada; do you know about that, Mike?).

Personally, I would not recommend that particular book. It is very lightweight, with hardly any examples or in-depth treatment. It's nothing like the big study guides from Sybex. On the other hand, it's the only there is for VFP. Mike Lewis

If you are refering to the actual certification test itself, I took 2 years ago, I studied for the exam that was meant for the US, and as far as I know the test is the same for both countries. Are suggesting the test is different for the UK?

I am in US. How ever I think the test is same for all countries( I think you are referring to the site not the test).
You say, you personally don't recommend this book. Can you suggest any other in examination point of view? I mean that can help me pass the exam?
I heard that there are some practice exams and model questions/dumps avialable on the net, but couldn't find for VFP.
Any suggestions please?

I must have mis-explained myself.

I simply meant that Hentzenwerke do not directly sell books outide the USA. I mentioned it because it is not immediately obvious from their site.

Of course, this does not affect the actual certification test, which is totally international.

I am trying to take MCP in VFP 6.0. The link you suggested doesn't have any thing for VFP. I may be worng, but I checked the MS site for Curriculam and study guides for VFP and cuoldn't find any.

Mike Lewis
Sould you suggest any other book?

Thanks and regards

FoxLearner,

No, I can't recommend any particular book for study towards the certification. There are a number of useful VFP books available, but only the one study guide (by Cindy Winegarden), which I can't honestly recommend.

You might want to check out the book reviews on my own web site (see URL, below).

When I was preparing for the exam, I simply made a list of all the topics I was unfamiliar with. Then, for each topic, I read the Help, experimented a bit, and made some notes. Personally, I found that easier than reading a book. But your needs might well be different from mine.

If you look at the last link I suggested, it does describe the areas you will tested on, and there are practice tests available. Mike Gagnon
