I run a five site NT 4.0 Network - Multiple Master domain with 6 Servers. Certain Workstations in one domain all of a sudden cannot browse mapped drives in a domain they have always been able to browse in the past.
The only changes that have been made to the network is the addition of an LMHOSTS file on each server identifying Netbios Names. I added these primarily to try to give access accross domains to a dial up client.
However users of workstations with this problem state that the problem did not occur until a few days ago whereas I added the LMHOSTS file on 19 December 2002.
I have removed these LMHOSTS files from the servers and run nbtstat -R which I think will clear the Remote Cache Name Table.
The problem still exists however. Does anyone think my adding LMHOSTS files could have caused this problem? The domain which is not allowing certain workstations to browse requires a manual route added at Servers in the other domain.
