Direction for newbie: MS SQL Certs?
I am doing some work with PSQL and am considering a cert geared towards MS SQL 2005 or 2008 when available. Is this a good direction to go in as far as job demand?

It appears MS is doing away with the MSDBA cert for the MSCT or similar...is this right?

MSCT does not scream "SQLDBA" to me?

Let me correct that one...MCTS or MCITP

"Database professionals using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 should consider the new Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) credentials. They provide IT Professionals with a simpler and more targeted framework to showcase their technical and on-the-job skills.

MCTS: SQL Server 2005 shows breadth of knowledge is SQL Server 2005. MCITP: Database Administrator shows depth of knowledge as a Database Administrator.

MCSA (2003) / MCDBA (SQL 2000)
MCTS (SQL 2005 / Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0: Configuration / Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007: Configuration)
MCITP Database Administrator (SQL 2005) / Database Developer (SQL 2005)
