The DMS100 has a IOD/IOC (input out put device,) normally it is here where the CDR is outputted.
The DMS uses a system called DIRP (device indepentdant recording package.) The volumes that have been created on disk for Active and standby volumes will be defined in here.
There is quite a few commands you can do in the AMADUMP area. where you can see an actual AMA record.
There is loads of tables you can find them by typing the following at CI prompt. FINDTAB AMA and then try FINDTAB DIRP.
If you need some more assitance just give me a shout. (I used to be the GOD on this platform, now I work with PABX's and its soooo much different.)
yes, I have a fair few notes on DIRP. I will dig some up for you.
and yes you can FTP the records.
What is it you want to know anyway, if its to set up AMA , its a big task and it involves quite indepth knowledge because you will be allocating volumes on your disk etc...
I can help anyway.
Do you have the whole switch to yourself, or are you one customer in a particular end-office with multiple customers? Most LEC's have a product that will give you some form of SMDR. In the former Illinois Bell and Wisconsin Bell Ameritech/SBC worlds, there were two versions--SMDR-P (SMDR to premesis) which required a data connection and appropriate collection equipment, and ACDRS (ameritech call detail recording service) where you either download or receive via FTP-push a file once per day of all the calls placed from your ANI range.
The SMDR-P (if available) would typically have an data circuit to a modem that would then give you an RS232 output, although that is the more expensive version--you'll pay for the data circuit, the port charge, and monthly for the feature, but it's the only option if you're looking for real-time. (The circuit arrangement is similr to the SMDI interface if you own your own voicemail instead of using telco's).
ACDRS (the downloading version) is much cheaper, but is more 'batch' oriented.
what part of the world are you in (or who is the carrier?)
The DMS would have to have an IP address assigned. (network configured.) this means maybe a special unit fitted to the DMS (cant remember the name of it.) but it allows IP connection, they may have it already.
AMA is split between 2 discs, and the volume's is rotate every few hours (configurable.)and each file in the volume has a ID which you can use for verification of file size etc..
You are best speaking with the Carrier, they will be able to help and they can setup a test with your software .
You could go RS232. and get some kind of "MOXA" box to allow IP connectivity.
