I have a BCM 400 as the Centralized VoiceMail and connected to is a BCM 50 over viop/mcdn

On the Remote site (BCM 50) do is set CFNA to be the DN of the call pilot on the host bcm400?

When set this way, the caller always ends up in the general delivery mailbox and not the mailbox setup for the remote DN.

Is the mailbox initialized? Also does the target line for the remote site have the centralized vmail box checked?

Yes, I used one of thoes docs to setup things in the first place. The document is unclear about what to use for CFNA to VM and how to access VM as a user from the remote site. Does the user dial F981, or something else? What do you do to get the callpilot to understand the call is not for the GDM and forward it onto the correct VMB #

From memory (so forgive this old guy if I'm wrong), I'm almost positive you set the CFNA to the VM DN at the host site and they use F981 to access their boxes.

I had this trouble two or three or four years ago setting one of these up and I'm thinking there was some obscure setting that wasn't checked. Check the operator settings or the AA settings at the Call Pilot on the host. I'm thinking an answer lines setting took care of my trouble.

Good hunting

You need to set up a Target line on the host BCM with recieved digits of the Voicemail DN, prime set Voicemail DN, Control set Voicemail DN.

Remote Site Dials the mail main DN if it is set up correctly it will act like F981 and just ask you for a password.

Is it possible to dial feature 986 to xfer directly to vmail from remote site to Centralized site?

What I have found is that centeralized voice mail is possible, but not recommended. The loss of F9** feature codes is a perfect example. I just implimented this for a client and they are not happy with dialing in their mailbox number and password just to listen to a VM. The end result was to purchase VM seats for the users at the remote site.

If it is set up correctly you should not have to enter the mailbox number. All should need is password just like if you did use F981.
