I have 3 systems, one with a 12 port VM Pro, and 2 using centralized voice mail. The two centralized say that I only have 4 ports available for centralized voicemail. Is there a way to increase this? I have plenty of VCMs, Voice Networking, and Voicemail ports, but it still says 4.

Thanks!

I don't think those port work on those systems because you're using centralized VM, so only on the IPO that directly connected to the VMPro that needs to have the licenses and can be changed.

Where is it that the two remotes say "four ports"? In licenses? Or somewhere else?

How many SCN trunks have you got between the systems?

2 IP SCN lines on each system, linking to the other 2 systems.

In system status is where it shows me it has 4 ports, when I click on Voicemail. Type is centralized, ports is 4.

Must be a bug in the SSA, if you check a site that has Centr VM then there are no options to select a channel.

How many channels are there selected in the IP trunk?

20 channels per trunk, I don't think it is a bug with SSA because I am getting errors when more than 4 try to access it. I will do more testing tmw.

You should not have the systems meshed like that, only one should have multiple connections really not all linked to each other, this may be the cause of the issue.

So I should have one SCN line from each of the 2 remotes back to the main, and 2 from the main going out to the remotes? (one each?)

Do you have any documentation to back this up? I was under the assumption you could do whatever you wanted. (mesh, etc.)

If you look on the knowledgebase it shows the 2 supported formats. With 3.x and below meshed seemed to work on. with 4.x and up it has caused us tons of networking issues. The network really should be hub and spoke and if your network is set up properly then direct media path makes it work like a meshed network.

In a 3 system configuration the only supported option for the SCN IP Lines is "A <=> B <=> C. You can decide which is A, which is B and which is C, but I think most people would make B the system that is hosting the voicemail server.

Here is where the problem lies I think...

I have A, B, and C.

B is where the PRIs are at. All outgoing calls (9N) direct down B.

C is where the VMPro is at. Right now they are all connected together, the 9N going down one line and the voicemail going down the other. Any suggestions?

(I know, the setup is silly, it was a licensing issue)

Just do a licencing swap, it means buying new smart cards/dongles but it fixes things up correctly

Good News!

bas1234 is right, it is just a SSA bug. I tested and got 6 phones into VM from a remote location. No errors or alarms. Everything looks good. I had a voicemail ports error yesterday, but we were still getting things up, so I will ignore it for now, I doubt it will happen again.

Thanks!

I'll also look into the hub and spoke setup, just for good measure.

Hub and spoke is what Avaya supports, I would highly suggest changing over to it as well. It cleaned up alot of traffic for me.
